They also introduce people to the Gorge through a series of free hikes, including some along the numerous sections of the Highway: http://www.gorgefriends.org Maryhill Museum of Art serves as the major cultural resource in the Columbia Gorge Region. Visitors from all over the world come to enjoy the collections, the setting and a variety of special exhibits and programs. Sam Hill, one of the major visionaries for the Historic Columbia River Highway, originally built the museum structure for his home in 1914.
